Seydou Coulibaly
Deputy Managing Director, AFG Bank Mali
Seydou Coulibaly is a Malian banker with nearly two decades of experience in the West African banking sector.
After experiences at Ecobank Mali and Banque Atlantique Mali, he joined AFG Bank Mali in April 2022 as Deputy General Manager in charge of Operations.
Since his arrival, he has actively supported the bank’s transformation and change of scale.
From 2022, he is driving an ambitious roadmap, called "3-6-9," which sets a growth trajectory for results and will ultimately be exceeded with a "3-7-10."
In four years, the total balance sheet of AFG Bank Mali has increased from 187 to 502 billion FCFA, while the net result has multiplied by seven to reach 14 billion FCFA at the end of 2025.
Over the same period, the bank moved from 13th to 6th place in the Malian market.
This dynamic has also led to a strengthening of AFG Bank Mali’s position in strategic sectors of the economy, particularly the mining sector.
With the creation of a Desk Mining, the bank has become a leading player in the sector’s financing, with a market share of more than 40%.
Through his career and actions, Seydou Coulibaly defends a vision of transformation based on a simple conviction: sustainable performance is born from a clear ambition, a method and the ability of teams to transform it into results.
He intends to accelerate the execution of the "Local Content Champion Program," which is a flagship initiative of the AFG group launched in Mali in October 2025. Also, he intends to contribute to research on the mechanisms of redistribution of gold rent and their effects on local development in the mining basins of Mali.
