Mr. Covas is Executive Director for S&P Global’s Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) practice. Based in Barcelona (Spain), he leads Europe, CIS, and Africa NGL research. He oversees ongoing NGLs market research on these three regions and regularly publishes insights on market fundamentals and key strategic issues for our clients. In addition to supporting clients on overall NGL/LPG market fundamentals, Mr. Covas is focused on building the firm’s capabilities around renewable propane, bringing together the expertise of colleagues across distinct practice areas and geographies. He has broad consulting experience working with clients in the US, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. In his more than 15 years of experience in consulting, he has led engagements that bring together senior management, business unit leadership, and field personnel. His focus areas are corporate strategy, M&A/due diligence, and innovation/product design. He joined IHS Markit in 2013 through the acquisition of PacWest Consulting Partners and has worked with midstream operators, LPG distributors, government agencies and regulators, private equity firms, oil & gas exploration and production companies, equipment manufacturers, chemical companies, oilfield services providers, and industrial conglomerates. Previously, Mr. Covas was in S&P Global’s Energy Strategy Consulting group based in Houston (USA), primarily focused on global upstream operations and the oilfield services sector.  Prior to joining the firm, he was a management consultant based in Chicago (USA) where he addressed broad strategic and operational issues, largely in power generation and utilities, as well as insurance, healthcare, and industrials. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
