Bokang Thitoyamore is an accomplished and transformative leader in the mining industry. He is renowned for his strategic vision, deep technical expertise, and dynamic leadership style. With over 16 years of diverse experience in mining, Bokang has consistently excelled in roles that demand innovative thinking, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. This is demonstrated through his experience of leading contract mining under Debswana and maintaining exceptional performance that was instrumental in achieving the highest productivity and efficiency.

Bokang is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Naledi Mining Services Company. Under his guidance, Naledi continues to successfully oversee the Jwaneng Cut 9 operations, which is a key national project set to increase the lifespan of one of the most valuable diamond mines in the world. This is further reinforced by his intentional vision for Naledi to be a leading force in responsible mining, leveraging technology and innovation.

Bokang’s vision has developed the Naledi Talent Bank, which has a strong focus on intensive development and empowerment of human resources. This positions the company to stay ahead of the skills curve for current and future market needs. Additionally, the company’s growth strategy sets out to level the playing field with international companies and bring in the unique hybrid operating business model. Bokang has set the Naledi strategy to harness the potential in Batswana to sell their expertise as a commodity to the global mining world. This approach has shown to have potential to create thousands of jobs in the mining sector and the mining value chain. The magnitude of this approach illustrates unknown prioneering of a complete sector of services in the Botswana local mining sector with intention to spread the vision largely across the continent and restore confidence in the capability of African people.

He has created an environment of inclusion in Naledi. To this end, Naledi has seen the inclusion of differently abled people accounting for 5% of its total workforce, while female representation at management level stands at over 60%, setting the tone that there is a place for everyone in the mining industry. To further emphasize this and under his guidance, over 200 women who came into the Jwaneng mining space as cleaners, were trained to become driver operators. This has opened more opportunities to date, as some of these women were subsequently employed by Naledi, moving the overall women participation in Naledi from 8% to 17% of total compliment in a 2-year period.

Bokang continues to apply innovative thinking, resilient streak to attaining excellence as shown through the Naledi business growth strategy which is set to change the face of Botswana mining on the international stage. He is a Mining Engineering graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand and has completed a Management Development Programme from the University of Cape Town Business School and a Global Executive Development Programme from the Business School Gordon Institute of Business Science School.
