Most mining operations still run on non-intelligent systems: static spreadsheets for scheduling, manual core logging for geological models, paper-based permitting trackers, reactive maintenance logs, and ESG reports compiled by hand months later. Where AI has been adopted, it’s usually bolted onto one of these systems in isolation, a forecasting tool here, a computer vision model there, without ever touching the others. This technical workshop argues that the real transformation isn’t installing AI in one department; it’s replacing that patchwork of disconnected, static systems with a single, continuously updated intelligence layer that learns across the full value chain and stays aligned with regulators at every step.
